The SafeRing

Yes. There are two ranges, The SafeRing and The SafeMaker, and the latter comes in four finishes: ST, EX, IN and LU. Then you pick the fill — P21 with 4 kg of powder (21A, 113B, C) for a flat, or P34 with 6 kg (34A, 183B, C) for a house. The extinguisher itself is the same size either way; only the weight changes.

Yes. A full P21 weighs around 10.7 kg, a P34 a little over 12.5. Of that, 4 and 6 kg respectively is the powder; the rest is the vessel, and ours is built from more material than usual. That is where the difference comes from — the shield has almost nothing to do with it, it is light. More to the point, you never carry the thing anywhere. It hangs within reach and putting a fire out is a matter of seconds: the P21 empties in about 14, the P34 in 20. Holding ten kilos for a few seconds, with one hand, is within a child's strength.

Yes. It is a portable fire extinguisher certified to EN 3-7:2004+A1:2007, with an approved pressure vessel, a declared fire rating, a type label and a pictogram. It counts towards the number of extinguishers a building is required to have, just like any other.

Nothing complicated. Once a month, look the extinguisher over yourself — that it is where it belongs, the seal is intact and the gauge needle sits in the green. Once a year a service partner comes for an operability inspection, and every five years for a periodic test. You will find a partner on the Service page.
